Windows 7/8.x Alt+Tab Loader

This mod allows the Windows 7/8.x Alt+Tab UI to work on Windows 10.

⚠ IMPORTANT: PREREQUISITES! ⚠

  • You will need a copy of AltTab.dll from Windows 7 or 8.x (x64). Once you have this, drop it into %SystemRoot%\System32.
  • You will need a copy of AltTab.dll.mui from the same OS in your language (e.g. en-US). Once you have this, drop it into the correct MUI folder (e.g. %SystemRoot%\System32\en-US).
  • You will also need an msstyles theme with a proper AltTab class, or else it will fail to display the Alt+Tab UI.
  • Once you have all these and install this mod, you will need to restart explorer.exe for the Windows 7 Alt+Tab UI to load.
    • You will also need to restart explorer.exe after disabling the mod to return to the Windows 10 Alt+Tab UI.
